We’re Here For the Moments That Matter

ICYMI Graduate Hotels was the official hotel partner of The Boat Race 2022 – the annual battle between Oxford and Cambridge rowing teams on the River Thames. After a lot of hard work and even more celebrating, we’ve finally recovered from rowing’s biggest day.

We got to work two weeks before the annual contest, hosting members of the men’s and women’s teams for private dinners at Graduate Cambridge and The Randolph Hotel in Oxford. We had a fabulous time getting to know the young rowers, and they were able to unwind and have some pre-race fun as a team before the big day (there may or may not have been pillow fights and bed-jumping involved).

When it came time for the main event, we set up shop in Bishop’s Park where we met plenty of spectators and passed out exclusive Graduate tote bags, dark and light blue Boat Race stickers and Graduate Bookstore merch. Blue boat fans stopped by all day to chat and learn more about Graduate Hotels between bouts of cheering for their clubs.

The momentous Race Day on the Tideway concluded with challenging wins by University of Cambridge’s women’s club and The University of Oxford’s men’s club – and of course, lots of champagne showers on the podium.

We loved being part of the moments that mattered at The Boat Race 2022 so much, we’re already looking forward to next year’s festivities (and chilling our celebratory champagne)! In the meantime, you might as well scope out the scene and book your stays with us in Oxford and Cambridge.
