After a nail-biting college basketball season, it is finally time for the real madness to begin… and we bet you can guess who we’re cheering for.
Three of our hometown teams will be climbing the ranks in our brackets this year: The Cavaliers, Sun Devils and Wolverines.
Saturday night, Virginia secured the number one seed of the South after completing the season sweep, beating North Carolina in the tournament title game 71-63. Big shout out to the game’s MVP, UVA sophomore Kyle Guy, the team’s guard. Guy was unstoppable by scoring 16 points and forcing the Tar Heels to turn the ball over a total of six times. Kyle chose Virginia because of head coach Tony Bennett, who was honored last week as the Henry Iba National Coach of the year, by leading UVA to a NCAA No. 1 seed for the third time in five years.
Selection Sunday was an emotional rollercoaster for our pals in the Grand Canyon State. The Sun Devils began the season as one of the hottest teams in the country, but lost five of their six final games. Arizona State will face Syracuse University, fellow number 11 seed, in a play-in game this Wednesday. Don’t wanna jinx it, but we’ve got a good feeling.
Our boys in blue and gold hit the court on Wednesday after having almost two weeks off. Watch out Montana, these Wolverines are rested… and hungry! Don’t miss our pick-em party at Graduate Ann Arbor’s resident cocktail lounge. If you buy a beer, you’ll score a bracket. Good deal, huh?!
Starting Wednesday, we will be on the edge of our seat watching our powerhouses Michigan and Arizona State take on their opponents, and we’ll see you at the Final Four.
