Who are we?
“The best of our lives.” Four years – potentially with a victory lap or two – spent learning, meeting new folks, being introduced to new philosophies and perspectives, participating in clubs and frats, and pursuing one’s personal dreams. College is a time of discovery.
At Graduate Hotels, we are all students. It was our own journeys on our respective campuses that inspired us to build a hotel brand that exudes the same youthful optimism and playfulness that we enjoyed during our first syllabus week until turning our tassels on Graduation day. We believe in creating experiences that allow guests, travelers and locals to reminisce in their own memories and rekindle the spirit of their alma mater.
How do we do it?
We set out to create hotels worthy of their communities. Sure, we saw a void in lifestyle hotels in many of the nation’s leading university towns. But more importantly, we saw an opportunity in towns that are incubators of innovation and creativity. These towns deserved a hotel product to better complement their inspiring communities.
At the center of every Graduate market, is a university, but these locations are also state capitals, hotbeds of entrepreneurial and corporate business activity, boast hospital systems, and offer a range of leisure activities. We look at each of our hotels through a local lens – we scour hometown flea markets, collaborate with the resident artists and artisans and meet the hometown heroes and legends. Through our design, we tell stories and celebrate what makes each town unique. We like to see all our visitors bask in the unexpected, where little moments of surprise and discovery meet them down every corridor and around each corner.
Since embarking on this journey in 2014, we’ve opened nine hotels nationwide. Keep your eye out for openings in Bloomington, IN; Iowa City, IA; Minneapolis, MN; Seattle, WA; and New York City’s Roosevelt Island on Cornell Tech’s campus. It’s been a wild ride, and we are just getting started.
